I was raised in NYC, with the sounds of sirens and the touch of concrete always around me. I play in dog parks and am usually on a leash running around busy people on the street…
I usually smell clean and my fur is not too raggity, you never know you might meet on the streets….
But, when I was in Missouri I met a new friend Dakota. He’s older than me, a bit smelly, hairy, nappy, but definitely a country dog. Dakota wonders from one house to another, exploring wherever he wants to go. He never looks back to where his mommy is or does he worry about who he’s gonna run into to…
Thanks to my dad’s “in” I was been spoiled with Biscuits & Bath daycare almost every week last summer from Tues-Friday. There are many rumors out there about Biscuits & Bath, but below is the straight deal from a dog who was there all summer, so all you dogs and their parents know what to expect.
In the beginning I spent most of my days at the Biscuits & Bath Riverside location at 68st and Riverside. This location is at Trump towers and had only 30 or so dogs and was never crowded or too loud. Riverside had a great personalized environment and chill vibe I likes. I got an hour park run everyday from one of new friends with the attention and caring one would expect from such a high class place. Management made sure all my needs were met. I even got one of the best bath’s I ever had here one day. The grooming and bathing here is about as best as you can get in NYC… The ladies like it too…
Yet I was transferred to the Greenwich Village Biscuits & Bath location on 13st between 5th and 6th avenues some days. This place was different. The 13st Biscuits & Bath location is more crowded, loud, and kind of disorganized compared to the Riverside location. Granted the more dogs at Biscuits & Bath, the more friends I can meet and hang with…
The manager at Greenwich Village Biscuits & Bath sometimes forget my daily walks. Either way, Biscuits & Bath is a large, clean, fun place but if I had to choose one location to go to, I would suggest others ones than the 13st one.
Lately people have been asking me if I Tweet, I gotta say I thank you for asking, but, I am a dog people, and I bark!
Its already hard enough being a dog that types on the computer, reads and responds to emails, now people want me to TWEET? I dunno people, its kind of undoglike to ask me to make a noise like a bird.
I actually like to eat birds… mmmmm But not pigeons, they are too dirty for me.
We here at metropaws.com are obviously dog lovers. We are in NYC and are so excited to have the Westminster Dog Show come to our town every year at Madison Square Garden… This year my parents went to a AKC benefit event & met some of the awesome people behind the scenes of the big show…
We must say that we were impressed with everyone’s passion about the health and showmanship of my doggy cousins across the country… Yet after talking to some of these people, my parents learned that these dog owners don’t hang with people like us too often. Most of the people who show their dogs at dog shows don’t live in big cities, they don’t live in small apartments, and hell, they don’t go to dog parks like me and my parents.
Us urban dogs and our owners live different lives. In a closed room with people in tuxedos, my jean wearing parents stuck out like a sore thumb but they all got along very well with everyone and plan to help each other partner in the future. Keep your eyes peeled on metropaws.com for more on that…
There is this really nice man who walks his French bulldog around my block. I see them all the time when I’m out with my mommy walking late at night. The dog is ok, but the man is so nice, quiet, and friendly. Every time I see him lately he gives me these really small treats, but they taste so bad, I spit them out almost immediately.
Just the thought of those treats makes me sick and run to my water bowl… I don’t know how treats can be so ewwy tasting but I guess someone eats them huh? I don’t care about being rude, but to be honest I hope that he gets some better treats soon. Especially these days when Im on this crazy diet…
My parents have been told lately that green beans and broccoli are good for me, they are full of fiber to fill me up, and have almost no calories, as well as are meaty and fun to eat. But it seems that I have either missed that memo, or I am not like other dogs, because I have NO no interest in green beans. Gross. These ‘Beans could be drenched in my food, taste like meat, chicken or whatever, and I just have no interest in them!
BUT…I LOVE BROCCOLI?!!!
Steamed Broccoli fills me up, tastes great, and is so healthy for me. But how much can I have? My parents have read many things on the internet lately that say I can only have a certain amount per day, but what, if any, are the side effects? Some say there can be liver issues down the road with too much broccoli, and others say it isn’t so? But for now, it’s Broccoli instead of cookies at snack time, cause until someone can convince my parents otherwise, I love it and it’s healthy and it’s helping me lose the weight I need to!
AND, all I know is thank goodness for broccoli, because if those beans were my only option, I would be one SAD, starvin’ dog!
whew!
You know the saying “old habits never die?” Well its true, my old girlfriend and I finally had a little one on one time and we started back up where we had left off. We played and played for what seemed like hours. Making out playing, & fighting for a ball here and there, but it was all just flirting and total dog love. Maggie really is amazing.
I really do miss my old girlfriend when she isn’t around. No matter how long she is away, I will always love her, puppy love forever! It may take some time to get these feelings to reappear, but with time I just can’t help myself.
Summer’s officially here and my dad has an “in” with Biscuits & Bath Doggy gym for the summer. I think he and mommy think this dog needs to socialize a little bit more with other dogs and become a little less of a “momma’s boy”.
To be honest, I have no idea what’s going on here. I spend the bulk of the day in a glass room with dogs and people I don’t know…. My water and pee-pee breaks are monitored, and I get an hour personal walk with one of my new human friends everyday. I really like that I get to sniff a lot of new doggy butts… On Fridays, my day off, I sleep ALL DAY cause I’m so tired from playing with all of my dog friends and human friends all week. Overall, Im excited about my new schedule, and my new friends…
While I was walking on the street my mother spotted the guy above, supposedly his name is Santa Clause. I have no idea why, but everyone walking by made such a big deal about his presence. Anyway, I decided that I would take a picture with him, at least for my fans if for no one else. He mentioned something about using me instead of Rudolph this winter for his work…I wonder what this guy does in the winter, let alone if he wears these glasses then as well…
So, my old girlfriend Magggie is in town with her brother Mick. I must admit it has been a little frustrating because when I try kissing on my doggie girlfriend Maggie, her brother Mick is always trying to play with me, getting me distracted. I don’t know if this is because he is jealous or because he just likes playing with me… either way its fun having my friends around… Too bad Maggie and I haven’t had any alone time, at least not yet…
